Police Action

Well, that's interesting.

A police car pulled into our cul-de-sac of 18 homes just before I did and stopped in front of a house down the block. As I headed toward the garage to put away the recycling bins, I saw a skinny white guy in a red t-shirt sprinting through the lawn behind my neighbor's house.

There are now five police cars sitting on the street and many theories as to what's going on.

But I'm heading off to Duckon. Maybe I'll find out when I get home.

(And my neighbor's going to keep an eye on the house, just in case. Although the leading theory says it was an underage World Cup soccer drinking party that got out of hand...)

next time you see a guy sprinting from the cops, yell "freeze! on the ground, NOW" in a Voice Of Command. About 60% percent of the time, they'll just do it, and then the cops can stroll up and cuff 'em.

Many years ago, I'd say I was about 9, my father and I were driving through a residential neighborhoodm past a park. In the playground area was a pile of 4 or 5 teenaged boys, the bottommost getting the tar beat out of him.
My father pulled over, leaped out and headed towards the pile.
He announced he was a police officer in an authorative voice and started pulling kids off the pile.
He grabbed the bottommost off the ground by his collar, told the others to get the hell home before he hauled them in and marched the victim to his house accross the street from the park.
Now ya gotta' realize that my dad was, at best, 5'6" and maybe 140 lbs.
He knew how to present himself and be listened to.
Boy, did my Ma tear a strip off of him when she heard the story.
Yeah, they could have killed him is they had acted together.

yeah, you should really avoid IDing yourself as a cop, unless you are one. And using the Voice Of Command from a distance is way better than jumping into a fight.

Not that I blame your dad one bit for doing it.
