I managed to get four loads of laundry done today. After going to the basement with one of the loads, I decided that it was time to pay for the update to one of the pieces of software that I use in the studio. But before I got to that, I discovered that a *different* piece of software was also due for a paid update, so I snagged it first. Then I found that Steinberg had dropped another maintenance release for Cubase 12, so I needed to get that, and then I could finally pay for and install the update to the software suite that I'd set out to get, which ended up requiring downloads and authorizations from three different software publishers before I was done, all of which are done differently.

Whee!

By the time all that was done, I was ready to sit down for a few minutes and relax in front of MLB Tonight, which was on in the middle of Saturday afternoon, because I am not responsible for the names that the MLB Network chooses to apply to its shows. The Cardinals, sadly, were losing to the Reds, as they showed when they would cut to that game for highlights and action. In the eighth inning, Tyler O'Neill drove in a couple of runs with a double, giving him all three of the Cardinals RBIs for the day and pulling the Cards to a 4-3 deficit. Unfortunately, he then tried to steal third and got picked off for his trouble. Oops.

A while later, they had been showing highlights of the Cleveland game and decided it was now time to use their "Double Play" feature to split the screen and give us simultaneous highlights of the Cardinals game. Yadier Molina was at the plate with no outs and a runner on first in the bottom of the ninth and promptly justified the big "Double Play" logo on the screen by rolling into a 5-4-3 double play.

Grump.

But then Juan Yepez singled to bring Tommy Edman to the plate. And Edman eventually drove a pitch over the right field wall for a game-winning home run, the first of his career.

So it all worked out nicely in the end. :) I applauded.

Other than that, the major activity of the day was throwing the ball for Ruby the Dog, since Gretchen had bought her a new one, the previous ones being not immediately evident and/or destroyed. And there is nothing that Ruby likes better than fetching the ball.

Except maybe sausage...
