So you may remember the trip to Menard's a while back to fetch new mounting brackets for the banister and the hook to hang the stained glass in the office? There was a third item that made its way into the shopping cart to come home with me.

That would be drywall anchors.

See, the curtains (sheers that they are) in the living room have been down for a very long time, because the support brackets for the curtain rod started coming out of the wall. Drywall anchors were clearly in order. Having obtained the anchors, today I pulled out the ladder and inserted three of them into the wall to remount the failing brackets.

In a complete upset, the anchors went in easily and did their job, although I was greatly regretting the absence of a power screwdriver before I was done. Gretchen had ordered new burgundy sheers from Amazon on Saturday after I suggested that we could try some "red" sheers instead of the white ones that we had hung there for years. She threaded them onto the curtain rod and with some help from K, the curtain rod went back into the brackets.

The new sheers definitely change the look of the room and we think for the better.

Someday, we must have someone else over to look at them. :)
