Having read the article in Friday's Chicago Tribune on the subject, I proceeded around a variety of blog posts and eventually landed on a PDF of the Gospel of Judas. So I read it.
If you think of it as a marketing document for Gnostic Christians of the Second Century, you'd probably be about right...

But probably no one would ever have figured out what the Gnostics were really saying, so they wouldn't have mass appeal.
