The last time I checked, the tracking is even separate - if you try tracking a FedEx Ground package at the standard FedEx site, it tells you 'no such number'! I've forgotten who they used to be - FedEx bought this ground delivery company with a terrible reputation, re-branded everything FedEx Ground, and otherwise appears to have not touched their operation. The regular FedEx is still a good goto for things that are time sensitive.
