So while I was in the basement today shuffling loads of laundry, I figured it was time to check and make sure that none of my Steinberg software had picked up an update that I needed to know about. And indeed, it turns out that WaveLab 10 is now available, so it was time to pay for another upgrade.

Having downloaded the software, it was now necessary to try it out. And once the software finally finished cataloging all of the plugins on my machine, I could get to it.

I decided to pull up "Herbs and Simples" from Juanita's album, Quest, that I continue to work on. Listened to it for a bit, looked at the spectrum, and decided that there was definitely a low rumble in the 60 Hz range. There's a MasterRig plugin sitting across the mastering chain that I hadn't seen there before, so let's look at that.

Apply an *extremely* sharp cutoff filter on the low end to get rid of the rumble.

Hey, that sounds better!

Ok, time to remember to clean all of that up, given that I *know* where a lot of the tracks for this were recorded. Like, say, in my hotel room at a con some years ago with an air conditioner in the background...
