I'll have to look it up — a little tricky, since I don't have TV.

An IMDB summary says, "In 2417, Ed Mercer is promoted to Captain of the U.S.S. Orville, but his enthusiasm is dampened when his ex-wife is assigned as his First Officer." Could that be an allusion to Majel Barrett (later Roddenberry's wife) as the First Officer in the Star Trek pilot?
