We flew back from Balticon this morning and got in early enough that I felt justified in working today and saving the vacation day, especially since I have a 10:30 PM meeting scheduled this evening. :)

I have just gotten done investigating a customer bug which turns out to be "not a bug", at least as described. We have calculated exactly the value that the input data asked us to calculate. Sadly, that was neither the value that the user wanted or expected us to calculate, but it was the value that correctly reflected the available input data.

It is unclear here to me whether that the items you were counting were the incorrect set of items, or that your method counted them incorrectly, or that you did nothing incorrectly but the count varied widely from what the client expected and, for the client's value of "required", required.
