daisy_knotwise was taking Julie to the dentist today when Katie needed to be picked up from school, so I walked across the field to meet Katie when school got out. It was 97 degrees out with 47 percent humidity, according to our backyard weather station. This was absurdly hot.

But apparently not unprecedented. It was this hot sixty years ago at this time, back in 1953.

This did not make me feel a lot better about it. :)

On the other hand, it's a bright sunny day and it's still only 77 degrees upstairs. Go, little attic fan, go!

(Apparently, it's been going. And when our cleaning lady plugged the vacuum into the circuit that runs the attic fan and the computers in my office, it became time to reset the breaker...)
