It is 94 degrees outside and sunny. The upstairs office, which had a tendency to want to become uninhabitable on days like this, is at 76 degrees, which is just fine.

The new attic vent fan appears to be doing its job of getting the hot air out of the attic so that the ceilings upstairs don't become unwanted radiators. Yay!

Yikes. Only 86 here. My office overheats too, but that's the afternoon sun coming straight in the window.

Attic fans make a big difference. Ours died sometime last fall/winter, so the upstairs was ridiculously hot early in the summer, at least until we realised why. A new fan was installed, and it got much more habitable on the second floor (a dark shingled roof is nice in the winter, but not so nice in the summer heat).
