Too Late

It was a lovely warm night at Wrigley Field. But the Cubs were trailing 10-5 after seven innings and nearly three hours of baseball. When my friend decided it was time to head home, I figured out a few minutes later that it was probably time for me to head home too.

I got to the car in the remote lot just as the game ended. It had not particularly improved, the Cubs losing 13-7.

But I got home a lot earlier!
