My definition of "Spring in Chicago": the two weeks between winter and summer, not necessarily consecutive.
Sounds like a typical Chicago spring to me (at least now that I'm safely ensconced in more temperate climes) .
(For what it is worth, the definition of "Spring in San Diego" is: three to four months of marine layer grey mornings - and sometimes afternoons - the the tourist marketing people try to deny exist)
