Saturday In the Dark
Dec. 14th, 2024 11:48 pmIt's getting dark early and getting light later, but that should change soon, orbital mechanics being what they are. In the meantime, a lot of cleaning was done. Gretchen got two loads of dishes through the dishwasher with a bit of help from me; I got three loads of laundry done with a little bit of help from the kids, mostly hauling baskets up and downstairs.
Meanwhile, after numerous failed efforts to find someone to take our old plasma TV, I posted it on Nextdoor and it was gone in an hour. Yay!
The Christmas decorations are up -- more might arrive yet, but many, many decorations are up. Gretchen has worked hard at this.
In other news, Ruby the Dog has figured out (finally!) that there is a heating vent behind my recliner chair in the family room. She has spent the past few evenings there, being both warm *and* close to me, which seems to make her very happy.
Gretchen would like to get a new chair for the family room that would be easier for her to get in and out of. If we had realized this a few years ago when we were replacing the sofa back here, we could have purchased a smaller sofa, but we didn't, so there is now a lot of thinking going into the problem. There may be no reasonable solution.
We'll see.
