Off to the World Series!

None of the teams that I have a normal rooting interest in were in the LCS for either league, so I was pretty much free to figure out who I'd prefer to see advance. It looked bad a couple of days ago, because I had settled on the Rangers and the Diamondbacks in preference to the Astros and Phillies, the two teams that met up in last year's World Series -- because, if it isn't one of *my* teams, why not spread the wealth around?

But each team would need to win two games on the road to advance, so you could just hear the announcers anticipating the rematch. Announcers can be like that.

And then each road team won two games! Surprise!

So now I need to decide to root for in the World Series. Since the Diamondbacks pulled the happy upset of the Yankees in 2001, they have a World Series win. But the Rangers do not (and my brother and sister live in DFW) *and* they didn't win in 2011 when the Cardinals pulled their miracle comeback in game six of the World Series in one of the greatest World Series games of all time.

So I figure I owe it to the Rangers to root for them now. :)
