Yes, there's nothing like fun at the old ballpark. And it's even more fun when your team is winning.
Although I root for the Cubs at most games that I attend, that's not the case when they're playing the Cardinals, the team that is my first love. Sadly, it seems that the Cardinals lose to the Cubs more often than the reverse when I'm at a game. I think I have an entire scorebook somewhere here where the only team that the Cubs beat was the Cardinals.
But that was not the result tonight. After dropping the first game of a day/night doubleheader earlier today, the Cardinals found their bats and eventually won the game 13-3. The six run ninth inning was the icing on the cake, which included the Cubs sending their DH to the mound to pitch and Albert Pujols coming in to pinch hit against him. So I got to see one more plate appearance in person by Albert, although it ended with him getting hit by a pitch.
It was a lovely evening and I had a wonderful time.
