Cubically Yours
Aug. 27th, 2021 08:56 amLet's write about something pleasant today, as opposed to numerous unpleasant matters that could otherwise be addressed.
I have always had a fascination with numbers, fed at a relatively early age by Martin Gardner's columns in Scientific American. It is, thus, that I am delighted to announce that today is Gretchen's and my third cubic anniversary -- or, if you don't feel like doing the math, 27th. And *falling* on the 27th as well, although that's a mere coincidence of dates.
1, 8, 27. The next number in that sequence is so very far away and I doubt that we will see it. Few couples do, even if they didn't marry as late in life as we did. But there are other anniversaries, linear and square, that lie before us, that are more easily attained, and I hope that we are lucky enough to do so.
I love you dearly, Gretchen, and after all these years, I remain fascinated with numbers -- and with you.
Happy anniversary!
