After last night's sleepover, Julie had a softball game this morning. Katie came along with me as I went over early to set up the field, which had suffered only a bit from last night's thunderstorms. A bit of drying compound spread and raked around near the plate and the mound cleaned things up nicely.
It was very hot and humid for the game, but one of the parents was kind enough to bring tarps that could be hooked up to shade both dugouts. Yay! Julie's team won by a score of 3-2 and has crept into first place by percentage points. This is, of course, subject to change, as the other teams have several games in hand. :)
But the girls have played good softball and have been good sports and this makes me happy.
Tonight was the annual DPGS outing to the Bandits game (the local pro women's softball team) and -- although it was hot and humid -- a great deal of fun was had by all.
But after last night's sleepover, it is emphatically time to go to sleep, because the thing that is most sorely lacking in a sleepover is sleep. :)
