The new washer has arrived and is installed in the basement. We can't test it for a couple of hours until it warms up to room temperature, but then we'll see how it works.

In the meantime, I went online to register the beast. This, of course, required the serial number for the washer which was not on the invoice. But it's ok, it was easily visible when you lifted the lid.

In little tiny print.

So I pulled out my smartphone, started up the camera, turned on the flash function (I usually shoot by available light), zoomed in, and took a picture of the serial number.

There. That's much easier to read...

Apparently, the new washer will. At least, we've run two loads of laundry through it. They each took a bit less than an hour to finish and the first load actually beat the dryer time, so this is encouraging.

I checked to see if the washer was level. It clearly is, from left to right. It's a little harder to check back to front, because the top and the opening slope...
