Rack 'Em Up!

Since we absorbed Juanita's inventory, we've been doing an extremely good job of filling up 18 feet of table space with the CDs we've got for sale. While we don't intend to keep offering all of the titles that she carried that we don't (for a variety of reasons), in order to sell them you have to be able to display them.

We had a couple of flip racks that would hold 32 CDs between them and that improved the situation a bit. But when I set things up for Confusion, it was full, full, full.

And then I picked up half a dozen or so of Tom's CDs that he usually doesn't wholesale at the end of the con. And bedlamhouse is bringing talis_kimberley and smallship1's new CDs back from England for us, just in time for Capricon.

Eek!

Fortunately, I had a plan. When we originally bought the gridwall that we use for our big clamped-to-the-table display, we got four pieces, so there was one piece that we'd never used. Before Christmas, I ordered another dozen of the tie racks that we use to make display racks for CDs. Today, I went to Home Depot and got wood trim, cup hooks, and C-clamps.

Later today, I went back to Home Depot and got the short brass wood screws that I'd forgotten on the first trip. (Oh, well. Only a two-trip job.)

And now, we have twelve new rack shelves tucked away in the bin, which will give us space for 24 more CDs.

Maybe that will hold us for a month or two. :)
