The power still appears to be out this evening in the section of Des Plaines to our south and Mount Prospect to our west. In the case of the Mount Prospect outage, it's due to a utility pole that fell and took the lines with it. They were working on it tonight as we drove by.

We were fortunate and didn't lose power. We did lose a few shingles though. A roofer came by prospecting for business and quoted a reasonable price to fix this and the annoying wind damage where a piece of aluminum sheathing blew open during the January storm, so he's getting the business.

We'll see how it goes. :)

[livejournal.com profile] daisy_knotwise tells me that they confirmed an F1 tornado somewhere in Mount Prospect. That's a bit close for comfort...
