Some Things Take Nine Months

I told the new fellow in charge of our group that it takes me an entire day to create a new snapshot view using ClearCase, because the ping time to the ClearCase server from my cubicle is so miserably long. So when he sent out a note at 1:30 PM saying he'd just created a view profile for the new branch and that he wanted changes merged to the branch so that he could build by the end of the day, I had to sadly inform him that would not be happening.

When I left work at 6 PM, it still had another hour and a half or so to go before the view creation was done.

I'll be merging those changes in the morning.
