Incompatible Technology

It appears that the SIIG eSata controller card is incompatible with the Promise Technology MBFastTrak133 controller built into my motherboard. When I disconnect the mirrored drives from the built-in controller, it boots past the SIIG controller successfully.

I've flashed the motherboard BIOS to the latest version, but there's no way to update the BIOS for the Promise controller.

Recording Roadtrip

This afternoon, I'll be off to Indy (abandoning daisy_knotwise for the weekend, as she has to work tomorrow) to record tracks for Falling Toward Orion with min0taur and Sally. Unfortunately, the wonderful new Cubase recording system is being balky -- I'm having trouble getting the external SATA hard drives to work on the studio music computer -- so I'll be using the ADAT system again.

On the other hand, that's the system I'll be leaving behind for Barry to use in recording his Lightship Cycle, so maybe a demo isn't an entirely bad thing...
