It turned out that the other guy couldn't play on Monday night, but he could come by at 10 PM last night after [livejournal.com profile] jeff_duntemann and Carol headed home after dinner. So he did, we played, I won, and my season is over.

I finished with a record of 45 and 39, six games over .500 and about six wins better than my Pythagorean prediction, so either some occasional luck or good managing on my part. (Good managing, in this case, was occasionally throwing in a position player to pitch in a blowout loss, I suspect.)

The fellow I played needs to win 3 of his last 7 games to finish third and make the playoffs outright. If he only wins 2 games, we end up tied. On the other hand, six of those seven games are against the two worst teams in the league, so I'm planning on finishing fourth. :)

I'm about ready to go home, I think. I've been working late, trying to get some demonstration code up for our user conference in late April. I've managed to get the client application to connect to our server; now I need to get our server to send some data back to the client.

I'm doing this by porting working code over from another of our products' server, but -- of course! -- our product and the other product diverge pretty rapidly. On the other hand, the other product has pretty good code, so it mostly seems to work once I iron out the differences.

So far. :)
