Something about the way that our product is writing cross-sheet formula references seems to be causing Excel to barf its guts out. The problem is that the tool that we're using to do this has been abandoned by the manufacturer and we're stuck maintaining the source code.
The good news is that I've found the Open Source version of the BIFF8 documentation...
