Title, Title, Who's Got the Title?

The title for the old minivan must be here somewhere.

Sadly, we continue not to be sure of where. On the other hand, we've found, sorted, and either filed or disposed of a great many things that were in likely places for the title to be.

None of them were the places where the title is though.

At the moment, we'd like to assume zero momentum, but we could be wrong about that too.

Isn't it a Universal law that any paperwork you actually need instantly disappears the second you actually need it?

I would assume you checked the glovebox of the old car. At lease for me, that's where all of my car related paperwork ends up.

Up here we get a green paper with all the cars particualrs. It stays in the car with the insurance. Not sure if it's a title or not. It seems that things work differently soth of us.

Over here we have a "Registration Document" known as a V5. They are a common format throughout Europe. Various authorities can ask you to produce it more or less on demand just like your driving license. If you can't then it's punishable by quite a big fine. So most people do actually keep it somewhere safe (not too safe though since I can never find stuff I've put in a "safe place"). You can't buy or sell a vehicle without it, in fact most people involved in a vehicle trade want to see the V5 before they even look at the vehicle.
