Things That Are Real

Several days ago, I was sitting in my recliner chair with Julie perched on the arm of the chair curled up next to me. She looked up at me and said, "Are you happy that things are real, Daddy?"

And I looked down at my little daughter, who had spent a very long time being not real, and a good bit of time after that frozen in liquid nitrogen before we finally got a chance to meet her.

And I said, "Yes, dear. Daddy is very happy."
