Well, at least a 7-5 loss is better than the 7-0 loss that it was looking like the All-Star Game would become. But as a Cardinals fan, I'm getting rather tired of Selig's brainstorm of giving the home field advantage in the World Series to the All-Star Game winning league.

Oh, I think it's a great idea; but then, I'm an AL Tigger fan. (Since before they got good, and bad, and good, and very bad and now mediocre. Poor things.)

Until the AL gets rid of the designated hitter and starts playing real baseball, tinkering at the edges of the relationship between the leagues won't matter much.

I was proud that Detroit came off well as a host for the game. The new park looked great and all the commentators and attendees had great things to say about the event.

Now if only the Tiges had a few more guys IN the All Stars...
