An Appreciation of the Digital Video Recorder

I have concluded that you don't really appreciate the digital video recorder (DVR) and its ability to timeslip, to jump backward and forward in the stream, and to record for later viewing until you have a small child who screams over the top of important, but very quiet, dialogue.
