Apparently, the U.S. Planetary Society has gotten together with the Russians and is planning to launch a test vehicle using solar sails. Cool!

Interesting. I've sort of wondered if they were going to go ahead with another vehicle after their test solar sail bombed a few years ago. Good luck to them.

Cool... also an interesting choice of launch platforms. I hadn't thought a submarine based rocket had the lifting power to maintain an orbit. Kind of makes you wonder why they don't do more launches from subs if it's possible?

I think it only works because this is a very small payload.
