Books, Mr. Rico!

daisy_knotwise and I headed over to Sam and Bonnie's this morning where we spent about eight hours and packed a bit over 50 boxes of books. That's not all the books they have, as the books in the living room were packed some time ago and the books on the sun porch didn't need to be packed since they aren't planning to have those floors refinished right now.

Sam looked at the bookcases and said, "We have empty bookshelves! We can buy more books!"

Bonnie hit him.

After we cleaned up, Sam and Bonnie came out to Des Plaines where we went to Cheeseburger in Paradise for dinner. Gretchen and Sam had the eponymous layered drink, which looked really good. (But the pina colada layer would have been toxic for me in all likelihood due to sulfites in the coconut. Damn.)

When we got back to the house, we showed them the enormous desk and Sam helped me maneuver the new bookcase into the room. Now all we have to do is put the books in it and get rid of the old bookcases. And finish unpacking the contents of the old desk and...
