daisy_knotwise explained to him what food was. He seems to be a bit confused on the subject until he gets started, then says, "Hey, this is good!" and chows down. He wanted more, but two cans is as much as we think he's likely to eat and get to keep inside at any one time.
fuzzbucket_cat was also happy to see us; not so happy when we pulled out the mini-vac to remove the cat hair from the comforter. But I trust he'll be back on the bed shortly, if he isn't there already.
Which I think is where I'll head next.
