I don't know how many people might have given up watching The West Wing last year after Sorkin left, but it's been well worth watching this year, if for no other reason than the Presidential campaign that's currently underway on the show.

In my personal opinion, we'd be fortunate to have a race between Santos and Vinick in this universe. (Of course, neither one would likely get the nomination in this universe...)

I really liked the scene with Santos and Vinick in the restaurant. Starting getting impossible ideas about a two party ticket.

Well, we still watch, but it is a pale shadow of Sorkin's work. I've been watching the first and second season DVDs on the treadmill and they make the current stuff look like crap. It has lost much of the wit and warmth that it used to have. I wonder what Sorkin's up to these days?

Really been enjoying this season, though I miss the White House dynamic. I really like that Santos and Vinick are both interesting, smart, dynamic people. And while the show does have a Democratic slant, they aren't making Alda's Vinick out to be a bad guy or an idiot.. they're saving that for Bingo Bob and Hoynes.

Given that Josh is his manager, Santos will win the election, but it will make for an interesting election none the less.

Hmmm... I guess that's a sort of spoiler but I suppose I couldn't have expected Bartlett to be president forever. :-)

We've been watching them on DvD from Netflix. We're actually into season 4 now! Only a few more dvds then we'll have to wait since I guess season 5 isn't out on Dvd. What season is the show up to on the air?
Mike and Gwen got me sucked into it and then I managed to convince Ed that since it was an election year it would be fun to watch.
