Five Months Old

Julie is five months old today. To celebrate this fine occasion, daisy_knotwise took her to the Social Security office today to apply for her Social Security number while I worked from home so I could keep an eye on Katie. I cheated a bit, as things were much more peaceful once I put the Pooh DVD back on for her at her request. :)

Just now getting an SS card? I had to apply for my kidlet's before I could leave the hospital.

She is not a number! She is a free babe! (Better watch how many "6"s are on that number...)

But in all seriousness, getting one of those during the tax year you'll need it for when you file next year is a good idea.

Having to wait for all the paperwork to settle from bringing Julie home probably added to the delay in SS application, huh?

Usually, they take care of it in the hospital now, but we had to go through the parenting hearing to make her officially, legally ours so we had to wait.
Now, that was done in May, but going to the office with two small children was not a useful option and the last time I made arrangements for a sitter, she came down with strep.
