The Day After

daisy_knotwise went out for a little quiet time after lunch. This is entirely reasonable and fitting, since she's letting me run off to Chambanacon next weekend.

Katie and Julie spent time investigating the nooks and crannies of Katie's birthday presents while I beat the living room and dining room back into submission. This really wasn't too hard, as it was mostly a matter of throwing things in the trash and recycling and putting the furniture back where it belonged. :)

It was a pretty relaxed day which managed to include six loads of shirts going through the laundry, which is pretty good for relaxed.

I am fascinated that you wash shirts separately. I sort by color and fabric.

Roper's shirts all tend to be cotton broadcloth with the occasional poly/cotton blend.
they get washed together with a couple of pieces of my cotton jersey to keep them drying slowly in the dryer.

the rest of the laundry is underwear and jeans and socks and tee shirts.

The little girl clothes are loads unto themselves.

When I used to machine-wash my dress shirts, I would always do them in their own unique load.

He didn't say that they were only his dress shirts. Now I am fascinated that he has enough shirts to wash six loads of them. They must have a little machine, like ours.

I remember you hanging the shirts to finish drying in your laundry room in Chicago.
