Old Habits

I work at home and have for a while. There are times when daisy_knotwise, Katie, and Julie aren't at home and I open the office door and walk out into a quiet house.

And my first thought is still frequently, "I wonder where the cat is."

And then I remember.

Been there, done that, have the t-shirt (X4). There are times I still expect to see Feathers (our Norwegian Forest Cat), and she's been gone for 10 years.

There were times in the 2+ months between our dear departed Boots passing away and adopting our current pair of silly sisters we now have that I kept expecting to see an orange tabby come strutting into a room.

I have three cat-shaped urns on my bookshelf -- the cremains of Bubastis, Merlin, and Marcus. I miss them.
