[livejournal.com profile] catalana left Ada. Thunderstorms ensued which knocked out the power across a large swath of Ohio.

She flew from Chicago to London. It remained stubbornly dry here, although it rained most of the time that she was in England. Given that it was raining before she arrived, I'm told that we can't pin this on her.

She flew back from London to Chicago and then, on Thursday, headed back to Ada.

At 2 AM the next morning, it rained here.

The following afternoon, it rained a lot, producing a three-and-a-half hour rain delay down at Wrigley Field, where the Suttons had come up from Indianapolis to see the Cubs play.

It is important to know who to blame for this. :)

As it was raining before she arrived, rained during much of her stay, and is still raining, there is no specific evidence from here to support your hypothesis.

(And I for one am getting heartily sick of rain. I don't remember the last day when we didn't get any. Forecast for tomorrow suggests that it *could* happen, but I'm not holding my breath.)

I'm willing to help test your hypothesis: have [livejournal.com profile] catalana come visit us in Iowa ;)

A possible alternative hypothesis, at least for the 29 June storms, is that it is my mother's fault. She came for her summer visit last year, and right after she left WV, there was a storm that led to a multi-day power outage. Same thing this year. Granted, this year was worse/longer, but still....

We got a touch of rain yesterday but it's still dust-bowl dry for the most part.

We got enough rain over the weekend to dampen the ground and fill the rainbarrel to a useable level (I got at least one garden watering out of it).

She can come through here as many times as she would like in the next few weeks.

And, for the UK folks, have [livejournal.com profile] clothsprogs mongol some of that rain over here, I'll pick it up at Worldcon.
