Adjusting Plans
Dec. 9th, 2023 10:23 pmOne of the things that we had planned to get done today was decorating the Christmas tree. That's been postponed until tomorrow, but Gretchen and I did manage to spend some time cleaning up the dining room as we had planned to do. The dining room is still an unholy mess, but it is now *less* of an unholy mess than it was and various items have been dispatched to the box for charity and to the garage.
This evening, K appeared and was deputized to hold the pieces of her late trundle bed while I cut them up into pieces suitable for use as firewood. Gretchen has decided that we should hold onto the old mattress until New Year's, so it is now tucked behind the new bed making a sort of day bed in the bedroom. And I have been handed one of the drawers from the bed that is supposedly full of things only fit for electronics recycling. Here, for example, is a USB DVD drive that goes with a laptop somewhere. Let's plug it in on my computer and see what happens...
The computer pinged when I plugged the drive into the USB port. And the drawer opened when I pushed the button. I have inserted the first disk of "Bridge" and am now listening to "Lucy on the Line". I would say that this is a working drive. Troubleshooting. It's a skill.
I wonder what else in that drawer works.
