More Than I Bargained For

I had run into Sam's Club earlier this week to pick up a few things. While I was there, I checked on the ginormous boxes of cat litter that were available and then called up Gretchen to discuss it.

"I can get a ginormous box of the lightweight cat litter in the brand that we've been using."

"Is it unscented?"

"Well, no, but how bad can it be?" Now, asking if the litter was unscented was a good move by Gretchen, because *I'm* the one who complains about the horrific stench of scented cat litter, so reminding me that this is a potential problem was kind of her. And so I bought the litter.

The litter went into the back of my car where it sat for a few days. And I walked out and got into the car and said, "What is that godawful smell? It smells like I got the car washed and they put the smelly thing under the driver's seat that I have to search out and destroy before the smell drives me mad."

A short while later, I realized that it was the cat litter.

I have now returned the smelly cat litter.

And I will remember to avoid scented litter in the future, even if you can't really smell it at Sam's Club. Because Sam's Club is *much* larger and has better air circulation than my house.

Or car.
