daisy_knotwise and I dropped by House of Szechwan, a new Chinese restaurant in our neighborhood and pronounced the food good. They did some unusual things -- for instance, my orange beef was served on a bed of noodles along with a bowl of rice -- but nothing that made me go "Ick!" The hot and sour soup wasn't the best I've had, but it was certainly serviceable, if more hot than sour.

After that, we ducked up to Home Depot where I found the right filter pad for our furnace humidifier. It's now installed and I predict that humidity levels in the house are about to improve abruptly.
