The Going Rate for One-Quarter of a Tooth

So if I leave the one-quarter of a molar that just broke off under my pillow tonight, what should I expect the tooth fairy to leave in return?

Lyrics to 1/4th of a song about molar problems.

Depends on how generous she's feeling.

a quarter of a quarter, maybe? That would be a sixteenth, I guess.

I'm sorry about your tooth breaking. Best wishes for a quick easy inexpensive fix.

The going rate for WHOLE teeth

is about $2, anymore.

But 1/4 tooth may be worth a lot less than 1/4 of that.

Interesting tooth-like patterns on your face and arms?

*hug* I know you'll be glad to see the back-side of 2007- this has been a shitty health year for you...

6.25 cents. (We're not laughing at you. That's a ha'ha'penny.)

You'll get a note.

Dear Billy,

I recieved word from my sources that there was a partial tooth under your pillow. While I admire your gumption, aren't you a little old for this sort of thing?

Sincerly,

The Tooth Faery

Up here in Deerfield, a tooth goes for a golden dollar, so I suppose a quarter. However, I hasten to add that Deerfield (at least my part of it) is in Lake County and you are in Cook County and therefore your tooth fairy is under a different county jurisdiction (or at least so my daughters believe...it explains why they don't get the same deals from the tooth fairy as their Cook County cousins).

I would imagine given the larger tax base of Cook County that a Cook County tooth should go for higher than the Lake County tooth.

This is useful information to file away for the future. I know prices fluctuate with the demands of the second hand tooth market, but I was unaware that there were county based jurisdictions. Must remember to keep tabs on the Lake County Fairy's current offerings.

Pieces of eight?

No no! Pieces of...ate.

I used to get a silver dollar for my teeth. (Which was cunning, since I think they're cool and don't spend them. *grin*) So I guess you get a quarter.

Although, come to think of it, all I got for my wisdom teeth were pain, stitches, and a discovery that I'm allergic to penecillin. So I'm not sure what a quarter of that would be.

Annoyance, a piece of thread, and an allergy to pens.

*snicker* Nice!

The tooth faery here at the Big Blue House in Milford, MA has been in the habit of leaving Sacajawea dollars.

Ah, the ones that look like Indian casino tokens, what with the Golden Eagle and all.

In my day, I was lucky to get a dime! Cheap fairy!

Bill, I told you before: You guys have done some major bad
mojo, obviously. You really should consider throwing some
salt over your shoulder -- maybe an entire water-softener
block of salt?

Something!

When my little boy lost his second tooth, he left a note with his tooth:

"Dear Tooth Fairy.

I lost my tooth in school today.

Are Fridays good for you?

Joseph"

So if you leave a nice note, you might get more.

Going rate in Dupage is $1 per tooth.
