I am making some progress at work, but I am once again jammed up waiting for someone to tell me where it is that I am supposed to get the thing that I need.

This makes it a good time to hang it up for the day. :)

I'm getting my feet back under me at work as I recover from this cold. Progress is being made.

I am currently in a stage of a project at work where I am flinging around code madly. This is actually a major improvement over staring at it and wondering how I'm going to sort this out, as the sorting out is better than the staring. But the number of compile errors is large and will continue to be large until the rearrangement is complete.

I still haven't decided which days I'm taking off for Christmas break. The company shuts down in the U.S. between Christmas and New Year's Day, so those are a given, but I expect to take a few more days off around the holiday. I'm also taking three days off for GAFilk and a day for Confusion, so there's a lot of vacation time in the near future, which means that getting more work done is a fine idea.

I have finally caught up on sleep following Windycon. This required severely oversleeping this morning. Oops. But I'm caught up.

Now, I just need to catch up with work.

And all the projects around the house. But having bought my way out of the fence problem, I've knocked down one of the big intractable ones. Or maybe gotten it to stand up, depending on how you look at it.

One step at a time...

The one thing that is certain is that I will not get enough sleep when I am at a convention. Windycon was no exception.

There were various things that went right and wrong, but overall people seemed to have a good time, which is the goal. I had some great conversations and the open filks were a *lot* of fun.

Tomorrow, I get to go in for a physical. Yay! :)

(That's one way to postpone returning to work, I suppose...)

I have finally gotten the new build straightened out at work. I still don't know how to *run* this particular build setup, but it builds.

This is a good place to stop for the weekend and hope that the folks who I asked to figure out how to get it to run can get it to run...

I should have gotten more work done today, but I had to put the fence back up where it had blown down, pick up the dog from the doggie spa where she got the bath that she badly needed, go to a meeting at school, go to meetings at work, and try to figure out how to get all of the new software configured correctly.

Oh, and install the (eureka!) 4K Xfinity cable box so I can return the old one and the wrong new one and get them out of my house over the weekend. Plus work on some Windycon stuff.

And do a load of laundry.

Whee!

The TV mostly works, although finding the set top box on the TV managed to annoy Gretchen this afternoon. I'll play with things tonight and see if I can find the problem. It may just be a setup thing.

I am playing with the new version of the JDeveloper IDE at work and almost have it working under both Linux and Windows. Close, very close...

And I need to place CD orders for OVFF. *Really* soon...

Work is going well lately, although a bit disjointed as I jump between projects. But I think I managed to fix a long-standing problem with some of our cookie handling yesterday (with a lot of help from another of our folks who set up the environment and ran the actual tests). We're still testing to make sure there are no cases that defeat the new code, but it's working in all the cases we've managed to recreate so far. This makes me happy.

Home has been disjointed too, but I managed to sneak down into the basement and complete the final fades on a number of tracks. I still need to go spend some time playing with SpectraLayers, but it's been busy and is going to continue being busy for a bit.

Meanwhile, the Mets beat the Brewers tonight to win that Wild Card series, so three out of the four favorites ended up losing. This gives whole new meanings to the word "favorites". (Yes, I know the favorites lose, but they sure seem to be losing a lot in this small sample size of the last two years.)

I got to do a bit of mix checking while running out for lunch today. There are a few adjustments to be made, but things are sounding pretty good overall.

Meanwhile, back at work, I sorted several things out with my coworker who is leaving for (most of) a week of vacation tomorrow. When he gets back, I should have answers to questions.
