At Comic-Con last year as the The Big Bang Theory was getting set up, I noticed that in addition to resetting the head table, some extra mics, and monitor speakers were being set up to one side. Then I saw roadies (I presume) come out and do a quick sound check.
About this time volunteers started passing around sheets, with the lyrics to the theme (including the verses never heard).
As the panel was getting ready to start, Wil Wheaton who was moderating, came out and informed the audience that he couldn't think of anything much geekier than a sing along, and then introduced the people who would lead the audience in a sing along of the theme: The Barenaked Ladies.
Before starting the song, the lead singer trotted out his geek credentials (including that he wrote the introduction to the 40th anniversary edition of D&D).
Somewhere at the house we have at least one copy of the full lyrics sheet.

On the other hand, there's a good bit more to the theme than we ever hear on TV. :)
