My impression is that Bill created these rules for auctions in general, and then added Interfilk-specific stuff at the end. While I agree that 2 x auctioneers is a good ratio at a general art auction, where the runners may be inexperienced draftees, cutting the number is, I think, less urgent for Interfilk. The wenches are experienced enough to have a very good idea of what they're doing, and dedicated enough to keep their focus. At OVFF, they lined up neatly, pieces in hand, and everything ran smoothly, at least as far as I know.
For the gang tackles, maybe we could just raise the threshold. Right now, the mob seems to get going at anything above $100. Tell everyone in advance to hold back unless there's $300 at stake, or $500, and we reduce the number.
