Just a Wee Bit Swollen

My food allergy has bitten me again, which means I need to be very careful about what I eat for the next week or so. I tried taking Benadryl this morning to see if it would help and it really didn't seem to help much, but it did make me feel even more cruddy. Right now, I've just got enough swelling in the hands and face to be uncomfortable.

I'm also minus on sleep, as [livejournal.com profile] fuzzbucket_cat decided to start walking all over the top of me around 5:30 AM. So when it got to be 3 PM at work and the network still wasn't working right, which meant that I wasn't getting any significant work done anyway, I told Doug I was going home.

Two and a half hours of nap later, I'm still swollen, but more coherent.

Blurgh. That doesn't sounds like fun...I suppose you can't just dump Fuzz on Gretchen since he has a collar, huh? You have to be nice to him. *grin*

I'm tired today, but that's from classes. This schedule is tiring. *yawn* Even if my afternoon class still is fantastic.

Ugh, no fun whatsoever. And just in case...what is it that you're allergic to? I keep track of my friend's food allergies, since I like to make things for gatherings....

*sigh* indeed. No danger I'll ever bring anything to worry about, then. All stuff I can't eat either, which at least makes it easy to remember. Hope you feel considerably better very soon.

Sulfites, like wine and some dried fruits?
Thea is allergic to corn, which is in everything. What are sulfites in?

Man, I'm sorry. I've got the food allergy thing going myself. Do you know what it is? Do you carry an epi-pen?

Those of us with food allergies know exactly what you mean, both about how you feel and how you have to be very careful about what you eat and (depending on the allergy) what it's been near before you got it. I'm always hyper-sensitive for weeks after a anaphalactic (or however it's spelled) reaction. All of my allergies become hair-trigger, and I generally have to stay out of the sun during that time, too.

Not fun. Not comfortable.

Have you tried an anti inflammatory (spelling?) like motrin? I LOVE Children's motrin. It's in liquid form, so it works really quickly!

(By the way, would you like me to start on your songbook in earnest now? If so, have you decided what file type you want me to send you the songs in?) :-)
