Back to Wrigley

daisy_knotwise and I are back off to Wrigley Field tonight to see if the Cubs can actually generate a winning streak (since a single win doesn't constitute a streak of any sort) against the Nationals. I'd hoped we'd see Kerry Wood pitch tonight as he comes off the DL, but apparently he's being held back for tomorrow's game. I try to restrain my cynicism and hope that this was a baseball decision as opposed to a "we have unsold tickets for Thursday's day game" decision...

I've always labored under the belief that the Cubs are perpetually sold out or damn near close to sold out. Am I way off base?

Weekends and night games, sure, they're sold out.

Weekday day games in mid-May before school lets out: I bet they've got some tickets. So if you can play hooky from work...

It is supposed to be warmer tomorrow. ISTR that he was scheduled to come back on Thursday anyway....

They had predicted Wednesday originally, since that would be the fifth day after his Friday rehab start. But the Cubs had an off day on Monday...

OTOH, they did win tonight, 5-0.
