That Gospel of Judas Thing

Having read the article in Friday's Chicago Tribune on the subject, I proceeded around a variety of blog posts and eventually landed on a PDF of the Gospel of Judas. So I read it.

If you think of it as a marketing document for Gnostic Christians of the Second Century, you'd probably be about right...

The Gospel of Judas is a much later text than the canonical gospels, and is probably derived from documents that were known to exist the century before. It's a cool archaeological and historical find, but there are dozens of Gospels out there--I think we picked the four we did for a reason.
