"Never argue with a fool."

Personally, I like Billy Joel's version a little better: "You should never argue with a crazy man, man, man, man, man, man."

In a flame war on a message board yesterday, one of the two parties was freely inventing facts. (You remember all the theatres that Christians burned for showing The Last Temptation of Christ? Funny, neither do I.) I reminded the other party of the old Usenet saying: "Never wrestle with a pig. You'll both get covered with mud, and the pig will enjoy it."
