There Ain't No Justice

I have four tickets to tomorrow night's Cubs/Cards game at Wrigley Field that I'm not going to be able to attend because of an immovable appointment. As it happens, the chances are fair that the Cardinals will be playing to clinch the NL Central pennant tomorrow, as their magic number is now two, with Houston playing tonight.

I don't suppose I could will an anvil to drop on the people you're meeting for long enough for you to get away? (Don't worry - it wouldn't hurt them permanently. I mean, look at Wile E. Coyote. Anvils fell on him all the time and he was okay. And if you can't trust a cartoon, what can you trust?)

Well, these are people that daisy_knotwise and I actually want to meet with -- it's just that this was when they could schedule the meeting. So dropping an anvil on them would be wrong. :)

It's just one of those ways that the universe occasionally works.
