Hi. My name was nobody. And I am damned glad that I care about what, and how, you think.

I wanted everyone to like me, because as a nobody, I was not entitled to my own opinions having value. Oh, wait- you listened to my opinions. You were always interested in discourse, debate, and discussion between reasoning beings. You supported your thoughts and beliefs with your experience, wit, and an extremely sharp and detailed intelligent world model that you keep in your head.

And through our relationship, you were one of the people who helped teach me how to stand straight. By example, how to treat people with respect, even when I think they are somewhere in left field. (You also helped teach me that coming out of left field, either literally in pro baseball, or in debate, can be a powerful tool for positive change).

You are an example to me on how to be 'somebody', not just a 'nobody'. I can go on- but at the end of the day it all boils down to the fact that from me, you not only put up with, but earned the title, "Dad".
