Hal Frank

Back from Hal Frank's memorial service and shiva at his brother's house. Murray did a tremendous job officiating at the memorial service. Many, many Dorsai Irregulars were there.

In a moment, [livejournal.com profile] daisy_knotwise and I will be heading down to the Passovoy's, where the DI wake has already commenced.

I can see I need to pull out my current bottle of Tully and lift a toast.

This is the first I've heard about his passing. I'll give Corina a call tomorrow. I'll be in Chicago next week; if I have time, I'll stop by the house.

Bill, I agree, Murray did a superb job and many of the comments from the guests, including Sharon Ferraro, Maurita Plouff, Chris Passovoy and others were heartfelt and wonderful as well. It was very heartening to see so many fannish faces in the crowd and I'm sure that Hal's family and his fanily appreciated the support.

I just wish that we all didn't have to get together under such circumstances.

I agree that Murray did a wonderful job. There are songs that I won't hear again without tears, but the memories of Hal will continue...

Many, many thanks to Bob and Anne for opening their home to us for the wake last evening...the closure and friendship helped!
